Awesome band you may have never heard! Doom Division!

Another band you may have never heard before - Doom Division. I was checking my myspace the other day and had a friend request from these guys ....thought the name was cool so I gave it a whirl. Well, I am glad I did....these guys are freakin heavy. Doom Division hails from somewhere overseas(sorry guys, I cant remember) and they draw heavy influence from bands like Crowbar, Down, Black Label Society and more. I think their sound is very much Crowbar-Slow sludging riffs with some hardcore thrown in for good measure. Check out their myspace page for songs samples and well as a really cool video. http://www.myspace.com/doomdivision

Crowbar signs with Phil Anselmo's Housecore Records

Just got wind that Crowbar has signed with Phil Anselmo's record label , Housecore. This is great news because the band will have more control over new music as well as the back catalog. Here is a message from main man Kirk Winstein.

Hey all,
Kirk here.Got a good bit of good news to announce. CROWBAR will be re-releasing the majority of the back catalog thru HOUSECORE RECORDS. These releases will be the ONLY official re-releases that myself and the band have agreed to. There are countless unauthorized re-releases out there. These were never ok'd by me and are basically screwing the band.
Most of these will be released on vinyl for the first time. We will also be putting out a limited edition Box Set as well as a new live record and a cd of new material.
Please check thehousecorerecords.com for frequent updates.
Also, CROWBAR and Goatwhore will be playing a show friday may 29th at Grant Street in Lafayette,LA.
Thanks for your support. And remember kids...NONE FUCKING HEAVIER !!!
Kirk

Hopefully we will hear some new Crowbar stuff soon!

COUGH Doom Band, Heavy as Hell!

Anybody out their looking for some fresh doom music check out the ultra dirty sludge filled COUGH. Slow down tuned doom is best to describe this band. The recordings are raw and the riffs are punishing something that will both take you back and punch you in the gutt at the same time! I really enjoy the recording's classic feel , the fuzzy guitars and the slightly distorted vocals laying in the background of the wall of distortion. Falling somewhere in the lines of Electric Wizard, Sleep and Eyehategod Cough is a definate check out. Three tunes up at their myspace page, check it http://www.myspace.com/cough666
